Energy Storage
There are a number or high density energy storage technologies now either entering the market or close to doing so. Compared to Lithium Polymer, current power density potential is between 2 and 100 times higher. Power density equates to range. Double the power density for the same weight and you double the range. 5X is enough for a practical electric VTOL.

Technology constantly and dramatically changes the world we live in. Imagine life without cell phones, computers, internet, jet engines, refrigeration or batteries. Humanity is long overdue for a breakthrough in energy. We still accept 400 mile range vehicles that burn expensive, unsustainable fuels. Little has changed in the efficiency of that concept in a hundred years.
Electric vehicles use far cheaper, more sustainable grid sources such as wind, solar or geothermal but are either expensive or limited in range. The limitation of electric vehicles is of course the battery or source of energy.
The Vision VTOL was designed for when batteries inevitably improve by at least 10 times. That is the point where a long range vertical takeoff electric aircraft becomes practical in either range and/or speed. Now imagine instead of 4X, having at least 100 times greater energy density or effectively unlimited range capability. That time has already arrived and we have access to more than one technology.
